Note to Parents of Class VI: Experiential Learning Expedition

Dear Parents

As a part of our outbound learning programs, DPS Surat is organizing an enriching learning expedition in collaboration with Disha India, aimed at providing our class 6 students with a unique experience in history an opportunity to work like historians at the fascinating site of Dholavira-India’s 40^th World Heritage Site. Dholavira a Harappan city, is one of the very few well preserved urban settlements in South Asia dating between circa 3000 BCE to 1500 BCE.

This expedition is an extension of our ongoing experiential learning project, designed to deepen our students' understanding of history beyond textbooks. Through this hands-on experience, they will get a glimpse into the world of archaeologists and historians, learning how they reconstruct history by analyzing primary and secondary sources.

The details of the trip are as follows:

Duration: 6 Days (Including Travel)

Trip Dates : Between 1 January 2025 to 13 January 2025

(Please fill in the consent form only if you are available on the above-mentioned dates. Batches will be allotted to your ward after receiving all the consent forms and no changes will be made to the batches once the train tickets are booked)

Expedition cost: ₹ 19,650 per student (includes food, stay, travel, entry tickets & taxes)

Mode of transport:Train from Surat to Bhuj and Bus from Bhuj to Dholavira

Mode of Payment: Through NACH generated on your account on 16/08/2024.

Cancellation & Refund: Before 16 of August: No cancellation charges

Between 17 August to 31 August 2024: 75% Refund.

Between 1 September to 15 September 2024: 50% Refund.

After 15 September till the departure dates including last minute no show/ absence: No Refund.

Note:

• Students are not allowed to carry bank cards or cash and any electronic gadgets like mobile phones, iPads, iPod, MP3 players, cameras, power banks, smart watches, expensive jewellery etc. Noncompliance of the same will lead to the confiscation of these items in addition to disciplinary action.

• This trip is optional.

This trip will be an unforgettable experience as they delve into the rich history, cultural splendour and picturesque landscapes that define the essence of this remarkable city in India.

The details of the trip are as follows:

Duration: 6 Days (Including Travel)

Trip Dates: Between 4 January 2025 to 16 January 2025

(Please fill in the consent form only if your ward is able to join the trip on the above mentioned dates. Batches will be allotted to your ward after receiving all the consent forms and no changes will be made in the batches once the train tickets are booked)

Expedition cost: ₹ 17,850 per student (Includes food, stay, travel, entry tickets & taxes)

Mode of transport:Train from Surat to Bhopal and Bus in and around Bhopal and Bhopal to Sanchi
