Cosmic Journeys: Exploring World Heritage Through Space
In a unique blend of science, imagination, and culture, the students of Class VII at DPS Surat embarked on an extraordinary journey through the Intra-Class Space Travelogue Competition, conducted as a part of World Heritage Day celebrations on May 1, 2025. Held under the Science Department’s initiative, this creative activity reimagined Earth's UNESCO World Heritage Sites as celestial wonders on a grand cosmic map. Participants were challenged to envision themselves as space travellers, voyaging not just across countries but across the galaxy. They described the Taj Mahal as a luminous star shimmering with timeless beauty, the Great Barrier Reef as a living planet teeming with vibrant life, and Machu Picchu as a hidden asteroid cloaked in ancient mysteries. With remarkable creativity and scientific flair, students crafted travelogues that celebrated Earth's rich heritage while showcasing a futuristic perspective. The competition not only broadened their scientific imagination but also deepened their appreciation for the world's cultural and natural treasures, truly blending the spirit of exploration with reverence for history.
