‘Dance is the hidden language of the soul,’ as rightly said by Martha Graham. Dance speaks the unspoken and adds fluidity to the hand and body movement sequence. To put these words into action, DPS Surat organised ‘International Dance Day’ for Classes I and II on Tuesday, 29th April 2025, to mark the global celebration of all dance forms. The students, along with the dance teachers, performed western dance forms coupled with Indian folk dances like ‘Koli’ and ‘Bhangra’ with an infectious joie de vivre, brightening up the ambience. The dance teachers briefly explained the need to celebrate the ‘International Dance Day’ as a way to promote dance. The benefits of dance, like physical, mental, emotional well-being, social interaction and mind and body coordination, were briefly explained. Overall, it was an invigorating experience for the young Dipsites.
