In March and April, as part of the Social Emotional Development program, class XII students participated in a session on Self-Celebration with a focus on building a positive body image. The session aimed to help students appreciate their uniqueness while addressing internal and external factors that shape self-perception. Through open discussions, students explored stereotypes related to skin tone, body shape, weight, hair type, and the impact of labels. They critically examined cultural norms and media influences that contribute to unrealistic standards and self-doubt. Guided by counsellors, students shared personal experiences, challenged limiting beliefs, and developed a deeper awareness of how language, social conditioning, and peer influence affect body image. The session concluded with a collective commitment to embrace individuality and foster kindness and acceptance.
